The Sunday long run

Another full week following the plan under my belt. Might actually be the last one for a couple of weeks. Two weeks of travel kicking off Wednesday.

But today, managed a pretty solid long run.

  • 10.01km
  • 61:34 run time
  • 6:09 pace
  • 10.39km total
  • New Balance SC Elite V4

I guess I got through this 10km run pretty well. I felt a bit tired, but if you’d threatened me with no chocolate for a month unless I ran another 2km, I most likely could have gotten there.

The SC Elite V4 were great. Buuuuuut, Im not convinced they are the best shoe for the long slow-ish run like this.

I really enjoyed them when I did my interval training run on Saturday, they really came to life. But my feet were pretty sore on sunday for the remainder of the day after this long run. I think I might go back to the Superblast for the long run, or pic up a pair of the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 for such purposes.

Coming up this week Im off to Tasmania for work for 10 days. So it’s going to be interesting trying to get my runs in, whilst not freezing to death. There may be a few short runs on the horizon!
