The Daily Run

A few missed posts, but no missed runs!

A few missed blog posts, but no missed runs!

Life sometimes gets in the way of posting, but im cool with that. Because ive still been making the run a priority each day. We’re still on track!

Looks like ive got 4 days to catch up on!

Saturday

  • 7.12km run
  • 5:35 pace
  • hilly course
  • 10.44km total
  • 1 hour 13 on the move
  • ASICS Superblast

Pretty solid performance. Run into town, solid walk to finish off.

Sunday

  • 10km run
  • 55:40 run time
  • 10.96km total
  • New Balance SC Elite V4

Im pretty sure this is the fastest 10k ive ever run. Also a pretty hilly course at times coming back through the middle of town. Ill be interested to try this again this weekend on a long flat run.

Monday – Rest day

  • 1.66km run
  • 2.15km total
  • Rest Day
  • Asics Superblast

Rest day here, nothing to write home about. But, was really feeling like I needed it.

Tuesday

  • 5.12km
  • 30 minutes total run time
  • 5:52 pace
  • Asics Superblast

Was definitely NOT feeling like running this morning. Rough nights sleep, but in the end, got through 30 minutes without incident. Felt fine really, just mentally not in it today.

Still punching through it each day! I feel like rest days are becoming more and more important. Both mentally and physically. 1.5km still doesn’t go by to quickly, I still have to try. But I really needed it monday. I think last weeks moved rest day meant too many longer harder runs in a row. Perhaps in future, I stick to all my rest days, and if it means 2 in a row for some reason and 3 for the week, thats fine.

Got some new shoes coming up! I have in hand:

  • New Balance Rebel V4
  • Adidas Adios Pro 3

both very different shoes for different purposes. But excited to try!
