The Daily Run

Good nights sleep, good morning run

So, seems like we’re back!

Really solid outing this morning. Felt like I managed to get at least a few hours of that sweet sweet deep sleep we all crave, for the first time in a few nights. Still sluggish to get the morning rolling, but when is that not the case.

I was feeling a little Adidas nostalgic this morning, for reasons which ill make more apparent. So I went with the Boston 12’s today.

  • 7.01km run
  • 5:33 minute / km pace
  • 7.17km total
  • Adidas Boston 12

The Boston 12 is really the first shoe ive ever owned, where I need to do them up so tight that my foot my fall off, in order to get them to work for me.

Had a lace issue around the 4km mark today, redid both shoes, and the feeling was noticeably better. Must have been too sleepy to get it done right this morning.

Felt pretty good today actually. I felt strong all the way through 7km. Splits we’re pretty good.

  • 6:00
  • 5:36
  • 5:32
  • 5:52 (included the stop for the re-lacing)
  • 5:19
  • 5:22
  • 5:07

I felt noticeably sharper after retying the shoes. It seems bizarre to me just how much this shoe falls away if it’s not strapped on for deal life. But it does feel pretty good when it is. Its not my favourite shoe in the rotation, but im starting to be super ok with it when I do go for it.

The reason I thought id jump back on the Adidas train is, I actually picked up a pair of Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3’s last night! What a stupid name for a shoe.

Id just seen quite a number of YouTubers talk about it like it was their favourite long run / marathon shoe. Which surprised me a bit. I had actually picked one up in hand on a recent trip and thought it felt unbelievably light in hand. I do kinda like the firmer feel of the Boston 12, and from what I hear, this is a bit along those lines, albeit, lighter.

So I thought what the hell. Why not now im a long distance maestro. Oh, and they are green, so they go with my new green singlet.
