So I previously hinted at some sort of running plan like the below:
- Monday light run
- Tuesday easy 5-6km
- Wednesday tempo 5-8km
- Thursday light run
- Friday easy 5-6km
- Saturday tempo 5-10km
- Sunday, long run, 1 hour +
I have zero idea if this is a good plan, or even one I can follow. To be honest, im not sure there is any difference for me between an easy 5-6km run, and a 5-8km tempo run. Im pretty sure I have one speed. But all the running bloggers and YouTubers seem to mention cool words like “tempo” and “strides” and “marathon pace” a lot. So I figured it would be cool if I threw some of those in too.
But let’s be real here. I have one pace… “running”. Some days my “running” is slower. Some days it’s faster (tempo days?). Im not sure I ever really get to choose. Last nights dinner decision probably has more to do with it than anything.
But one thing I can do of my own accord, is a light run day.
Being that its monday, and that my leg is feeling pretty good considering how bad it was, I thought lets not overdo it today. Lets kick off with a light run.
So today was:
- 2km run
- 6:11 pace
- 4km today
- Adidas Boston 12
Went with the Boston 12’s today. No real reason. Just changing the rotation a bit for fun. I can get stuck in a pattern of one shoe and one shoe only. But I think part of this journey will be trying new things, purely for the hell of it.
Tomorrow, I’ll attempt to punch out 6, without pushing things too hard.
